Time fields can be augmented by the datetime
field type to add a GUI widget that can help users enter data. All that is required is that the format
option be set to the format required and it
will automatically detect what elements it should display.
In this example the two time columns use different formats (you wouldn't do this normally, but it is useful for this example!) - the Shift start field uses a 12 hour clock with an AM/PM selector, while the Shift end field uses a 24 hour with seconds.
The formats are defined by the Moment.js library which must be included for the datetime
field type to operate with date time formatted
strings (note that Luxon can also be used with datetime
).

This table loads data by Ajax. The latest data that has been loaded is shown below. This data will update automatically as any additional data is loaded.
The script used to perform the server-side processing for this table is shown below. Please note that this is just an example script using PHP. Server-side processing scripts can be written in any language, using the protocol described in the DataTables documentation.
